Project Description
The central themes in much of CPWF’s work are capacity building that brings novel solutions to a variety of water governance and developmental problems and having a tangible impact. The MK7 Research Fellowships Program enabled the CPWF to address these goals. By providing funding and mentorship, the program worked to improve the capacity of grantees to critically analyze water resource management and development, as well as the challenges for democratizing water governance in the region. The Fellowships were small and of short duration, enabling key CPWF goals in the Mekong to be met before the end of the program’s activities. All Fellows worked in the Mekong Region with their fellowship sometimes fitting into a broader research initiative or degree program.
Partners
MK 7 is led by the Mekong Program on Water, Environment and Resilience (M-POWER). On behalf of M-POWER, the program was implemented by the Asian Institute of Technology, the GMS Study Centre at Yunnan University, the Mekong Sub-Region Social Research Center at Ubon Ratchathani University, and the D Foundation on Doing Good Work.
