MK 5: The Coordination and Change Project

MK 5: The Coordination and Change Project

Natalie OrentlicherMay 16, 2016

Project Description

MK5 worked to connect the analytical efforts of CPWF-Mekong’s projects. Supporting stakeholders to manage their water resources means supporting them to make choices and to reach a common understanding on the necessary arrangements for sharing and allocating water-related goods and services. MK5 acted as a ‘repository’ for CPWF-Mekong’s vision and goals. The project monitored, evaluated, and tracked the other projects in the Mekong. It worked with stakeholders to ensure their inclusion in the program, and improve the program’s potential for uptake. It identified opportunities to support, fund or connect initiatives in the basin.

Partners

MK5 was led by the Challenge Program on Water and Food, working in partnership with the Mekong Program on Water, Environment and Resilience.

Mekong Citizen

Mekong Citizen is a politically neutral initiative that promotes dialogue in the Mekong basin. It seeks to highlight the idea that everyone living in the basin has a stake in its future, and therefore should be able to shape it. Mekong Citizen encourages dialogue through the creation of communication spaces, negotiation and facilitation. Assembling facts, resources, news and film from many sources, Mekong Citizen brings diverse views to bear in the discussions around the development of the Mekong.

State of Knowledge Series

The State of Knowledge Series papers are easy-to-read reviews of the state of knowledge about a subject relevant to Mekong hydropower development. They are meant to be an unbiased appraisal of what we know (and don’t know) about a subject. There are four papers in the series. Publications are presently issued by the CGIAR Challenge Program on Water and Food – Mekong Program. The papers draw on both regional and international expertise and experience. The opinions expressed in the SOK series are those of the authors alone, and not those of the CGIAR, the CPWF, or any associated partners. Access the State of Knowdge series.
